Arban Single Tonguing Ex. 13 - Advanced Trumpet & Cornet Practice

Often overlooked for the later single tonguing exercises Nos. 13 to 18 have a particular place in the practice repertoire.
The dotted quaver/ semiquaver rhythm (dotted 8th note/ 16th note). is one of the most recurring rhythms in the Trumpet and Cornet repertoire. It appears in countless Marches as well as works by Bach as well as Jazz.
It is vital that the appropriate weight is placed on the respective note values. Indeed such a rhythm played correctly in its particular context adds so much to the performance as a whole.
